"Home is Where the Heart is"
This mixed media piece explores the fragile intersection of love, memory, and loss. Built within the shape of a human heart, layers of collaged images—homes, cityscapes, words, and fragments of life—speak to the way places and people live on inside of us. The phrase “Home is where the heart is” becomes both a comfort and a reminder of absence: when we lose someone, home shifts, yet it is never gone. The yellow bird, a symbol of spirit and transition, hovers near, suggesting continuity between life and death. This work is a meditation on grief as an act of remembering and carrying forward, holding the weight of what we’ve lost while honoring the love that remains.
